The chairperson may issue an order immediately suspending operations conducted under a geothermal exploration permit if the permittee is in violation of any terms or conditions of the permit or, in the judgment of the chairperson, the operations jeopardize the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Any suspension shall be referred to and reviewed by the board at its next regular meeting.
