Section 13-300-23 - Term, removal, and reappointment
(a) Each council member shall serve the length of the term assigned by the governor, unless the member voluntarily resigns, or is removed or suspended by the governor pursuant to section 26-34, HRS.
(b) Removal or suspension of a member from the council may occur for any of the following reasons:
(1) Health concerns;
(2) Failure to carry out duties and responsibilities as provided in this chapter;
(3) Unexcused absences from three consecutive council meetings; or
(4) Appointment to another state board or commission.
(c) Any appointment to fill a vacancy on the council shall be in compliance with section 26-34, HRS, and article 5, section 6 of the Hawai'i State Constitution.
