Section 13-256-87 - Hanauma Bay Restricted Zone(a) The Hanauma Bay Restricted Zone means the area confined by the boundaries shown for said zone on Exhibit "DD", dated August 15, 1988, located at the end of this subchapter. The boundaries are as follows: Beginning at the low water mark at Palea Point then by azimuth measured clockwise from True South, 23 degrees 15 minutes and 50 seconds for a distance of one thousand nine hundred forty-six feet to Paioluolu Point; then along the shoreline of Hanauma Bay to the point of beginning.
(b) Restriction: Hanauma Bay is designated a swimming and snorkeling zone. No watercraft of any description shall operate or moor in this zone, except a person (1) engaged in law enforcement, rescue or other operations essential to preserve life or property; (2) engaged in research or other activities pursuant to a permit issued by the department of land and natural resources.[Eff 2/24/94] (Auth: HRS §§ 200-2, 200-3, 200-4) (Imp: HRS §§ 200-2, 200-3, 200-4)
