Section 13-232-29 - Lifesaving equipment required

Any vessel utilizing the waters of a small boat harbor shall be equipped with approved lifesaving devices as prescribed in chapter 13-243, Hawaii Administrative Rules. The lifesaving equipment shall at all times be kept in good and serviceable condition for immediate and effective use and shall be so placed as to be readily accessible provided, that if any person is living aboard any vessel or contrivance, it shall be equipped with at least an approved type life preserver, ring life buoy, buoyant vest, special purpose water safety buoyant device, or buoyant cushion for each adult person on board. If there are any children living aboard, approved life preservers suitable for children shall be provided for each child living aboard.
