Section 13-230-22 - Twelve-month rule(a) Status as a Hawaii resident must be acquired, and not subsequently lost at least twelve months prior to the residence determination date to avoid payment of the nonresidence fee differential prescribed in section 200-34, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
