Section 12-42-72 - Duties of arbitration panel
(a) The arbitration panel shall perform its duties in accordance with procedures prescribed by the board.
(b) After appointment the arbitration panel shall:
(1) Meet forthwith with the parties involved in the impasse.
(2) Conduct inquiries and investigations.
(3) Hold hearings which shall not be public unless all parties and the panel agree to have them public.
(4) Take whatever action is necessary to resolve the impasse.
(c) For the purposes of hearings, investigations, and inquiries, the panel of arbitrators shall have the power to issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of books and papers relating to any matter under inquiry, investigation, or hearing, and such other powers as the board is authorized and deems appropriate to confer on such panel.
