Section 11-97.1-8 - Emergency preparednessA home health agency shall develop and maintain an emergency preparedness plan that must be reviewed and updated at least every two (2) years and includes but is not limited to:
(1) Addressing patient population, the types of services the agency has the ability to provide in an emergency, and continuity of operations;(2) Development and implementation of emergency preparedness policies and procedures based on natural or man made disasters;(3) Procedures to follow with on-duty staff and patients to determine services that are needed in the event of an interruption in services during or due to an emergency; and(4) Development and maintenance of an emergency preparedness communication plan that includes but is not limited to names and contact information for staff, entities providing services under arrangement, patients' physicians, APRN, or physician's assistant, and volunteers, and a method for sharing information and medical documentation for patients under the agency's care with other health providers to maintain the continuity of care, and a means of providing information about the general condition and location of patients under the agency's care.
