Rule 80-1-1-.02 - Applications: Bank Charter(1) An application for chartering a Georgia state chartered bank is necessary. An organizing group should schedule an initial meeting with the Department to discuss chartering issues. An applicant holding company that has established a lawful banking business in Georgia which meets certain criteria may qualify for expedited processing.(2) Specific requirements for documents, meetings with the Department and publication of notices are contained in the Applications Manual and the Statement of Policies of the Department.(3) Submission and completion of application. (a) A charter application shall be filed with the Department. If the Department notifies the applicant of deficiencies in the application, the applicant must complete the application within thirty (30) days after receipt of such notification.(b) An application will not be deemed to have been officially accepted until such time as the required fee has been paid and all portions of the application have been completed to the satisfaction of the Department.Ga.
