Rule 511-3-5-.13 - Heaters and Temperature Requirements(1)Sizing. Heaters, when used, shall be properly sized according to the volume of water, square footage of surface area, and manufacturer's recommendations.(2)Water Temperature. The owner/operator shall routinely check the in-pool or in-spa water to ensure that the temperature does not exceed 104°F. (a) If adjustments are necessary, those adjustments shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions or by a qualified technician.(b) An annual gas fired inspections shall be performed by a qualified professional.(c) A thermometer shall be available to measure the temperature of the water. It shall be attached or available to the operator at all times.(3)Installation. The heater shall be installed in accordance with state and local codes as well as the manufacturer's recommendations. (a)Support. The heater shall be installed on a surface with sufficient structural strength to support the heater when it is full of water and operating. The heater shall be level and not able to move after plumbing, gas, and electrical connections are completed.(b)Ventilation. Fossil fuel heaters shall have adequate ventilation in order to assure proper operation.(c)Make Up Air. Make up air shall be sufficient for proper operation.Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. R. 511-3-5-.13
