Section 62-610.417 - Surface Runoff Control and Subsurface Drainage(1) The land application site shall be designed to prevent the entrance of surface runoff. If necessary, berms shall be placed around the application area for this purpose. Provisions for on-site surface runoff control shall be described in the engineering report and subject to Department approval.(2) The requirements of subsection 62-610.850(1), F.A.C., shall apply to discharges to surface waters from perimeter drainage features that collect reclaimed water after land application.(3) If a subsurface drain system is necessary to prevent the water table from rising into the plant root zone, the system shall be designed in accordance with appropriate portions of paragraph 62-610.300(1)(c), F.A.C., concerning Natural Resources Conservation Service criteria for subsurface drains. The drainage system shall be designed so that the water table is drawn down generally to provide for 36 inches of unsaturated soil thickness during the time when irrigation is not practiced; unsaturated thicknesses less than this value shall be approved only when justified in the engineering report on the basis of renovating and agronomic aspects of the soil-plant system. The requirements of subsection 62-610.850(1), F.A.C., shall apply to discharges to surface waters from the drainage system.Fla. Admin. Code Ann. R. 62-610.417
