Section 40B-21.231 - Declaring a Water Shortage(1) In order to protect the water resource from serious harm, the Governing Board shall declare a water shortage for the affected source class, if the District determines there is a possibility that insufficient water will be available within a source class to meet the estimated present user demands from that source. In declaring a water shortage, the Governing Board shall specify the geographic area or areas of water shortage within the District. The restricted area or areas shall include all or part of a county, municipality, surfacewater basin or utility service area which impacts a source class for which a water shortage is declared. When the affected source extends beyond the District's boundaries, the District shall coordinate water shortage declarations with the appropriate water management district(s).(2) A water shortage shall be declared for those source classes not presently experiencing a water shortage if usage from such sources can be reasonably expected to impact the present and anticipated available water supply in those source classes currently experiencing a shortage.Fla.
