Rule 29-982 - DEFINITIONS

Accrual Method of Accounting - a method of accounting pursuant to which revenue is recorded in the period earned, regardless of when collected and expenses are recorded in the period incurred, regarding of when paid. See: Final Rulemaking published at 45 DCR 2333, 2350 (April 17, 1998).

Actual Time Method - the number of months the asset is owned both the year of acquisition and the year of disposal. See: Final Rulemaking published at 45 DCR 2333, 2350 (April 17, 1998).

Acuity - the level of care required for an individual in an ICF/MR which correlates to an acuity level. Customers with a high acuity level require more care, those with lower acity levels require less care. See: Final Rulemaking published at 45 DCR 2333, 2350 (April 17, 1998).

Allowable costs - those actual costs after appropriate adjustments, incurred by an ICF/MR facility which are reimbursable under the Medicaid program. See: Final Rulemaking published at 45 DCR 2333, 2350 (April 17, 1998).

Active treatment services - A program of specialized and generic training, treatment, health services and related services designed toward the acquisition of the behaviors necessary for the client to function with as much self determination and independence as possible, and the prevention or deceleration of regression or loss of current optimal functional status. This definition shall be consistent with the federal standard.
