Nutrition services shall be provided in accordance with this section.
A hot meal or snacks, or both, shall be prepared under the direction of a dietitian and shall be provided in accordance with the schedule below, to every participant each day he or she attends the day treatment program.
The hot meal shall be equivalent to at least one-fourth (1/4) of the recommended daily dietary allowance established by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council.
The provider shall furnish special diets, if required by the participant, and prescribed by his or her physician.
Program staff members, under the supervision of a dietitian or a registered nurse, shall provide nutrition counseling and consumer shopping advice to participants and, if necessary, to his or her family or guardian.
The following schedule shall be used for determining the number of meals and snacks to be provided:
