Rule 29-5600 - PURPOSE AND APPLICABILITY
5600.1

The purpose of this chapter is to establish requirements for the District's Section 1115 research and demonstration project entitled D.C. Medicaid Managed Care Program for Disabled Children and Youths.

5600.2

The demonstration project term shall be for the period from December 1, 1995, through the term of the federal Health Care Finance Administration's approved period for the demonstration project, plus any extensions thereof.

5600.3

During the demonstration, the Department will select one prepaid, capitated, managed care provider that meets these requirements to provide services to eligible children and youths.

5600.4

The managed care provider selected by the Department to serve eligible children under this chapter shall not be subject to the standards in Chapter 55 of Title 22 regarding prepaid providers serving other categories of Medicaid beneficiaries.
