Rule 29-5204 - COUNSELING (INDIVIDUAL ON-SITE, INDIVIDUAL OFF-SITE AND GROUP)

5204.1

Counseling/Therapy services shall include:

(a) Individual Counseling/Therapy;

(b) Group Counseling/Therapy; and

(c) Family Counseling/Therapy.

5204.2

Counseling/Therapy services shall:

(a) Consist of a face-to-face encounter;

(b) Be provided in fifteen (15) minute units;

(c) Be provided on-site or off-site, or in individual or group interventions; and

(d) Require prior authorization from DBH for additional units of service after a client has received one hundred sixty (160) units of service.

5204.3

Counseling/Therapy services shall be delivered in accordance with the requirements set forth in Chapter 34 of Title 22-A DCMR.

5204.4

Counseling/Therapy services shall not be billed on the same day as IDT, CBI, CPP, TF-CBT, or TST. Counseling/Therapy services shall not be billed while a consumer is enrolled in ACT, unless otherwise authorized by DBH.
