Rule 26-A2806 - CREDIT FOR REINSURANCE REQUIRED BY LAW

Pursuant to §2(g) of the Law on Credit for Reinsurance Act of 1993 (D.C. Official Code § 31-501(g)), the Commissioner shall allow credit for reinsurance ceded by a domestic insurer to an assuming insurer not meeting the requirements of §2(a), (b), (c), (d), or (e) of that Act, but only with respect to the insurance of risks located in jurisdictions where such reinsurance is required by the applicable law or regulation of that jurisdiction. As used in this section, "jurisdiction" means any state, district or territory of the United States and any lawful national government.
