Rule 26-A1809 - EMERGENCY AWARDS
1809.1

Emergency awards may be made not to exceed one thousand dollars ($ 1,000), if it appears that a final award is probable. The amount of the award shall be determined by the following factors:

(a) Actual documented economic need which is a direct result of the injury or death; and
(b) The basic necessities of goods, clothing and shelter where it is shown that the victim shall not be able to maintain minimum living standards relative thereto.
1809.2

The emergency award shall be deducted from the final award.

1809.3

If it is determined that no compensation will be awarded, the emergency award shall be repaid by the victim.

1809.4

No application for an emergency award shall be considered unless an application for compensation has been filed with the Administration.
