A certified veterinary euthanasia technician shall not receive compensation directly from the owner of an animal for performing veterinary euthanasia services; however, he or she may receive a salary or other compensation provided by an employing veterinarian, a licensed veterinary facility, a humane society, an animal shelter, an animal control facility, or a wildlife rehabilitation facility.
