Strike Section 605.2 of the International Plumbing Code and insert a new Section 605.2 into the Plumbing Code in its place to read as follows:
Lead content of water supply pipe and fittings. Pipe and pipe fittings, including valves and faucets, utilized in any portion of the water supply system that provides drinking or cooking water for human consumption shall meet the requirements for lead-free pipe and fittings or the requirements for lead-free plumbing fixtures and fittings, as applicable. Other pipe, pipe fittings, valves and faucets utilized in the water supply system shall have a maximum of 8-percent lead content.
