Rule 12-E505 - DOMESTIC KITCHEN EXHAUST EQUIPMENT

Strike Section 505.3 of the International Mechanical Code and insert a new Section 505.3 into the Mechanical Code in its place to read as follows:

505.3

Common exhaust systems for domestic kitchens located in multistory structures.

Where a common multistory duct system is designed and installed to convey exhaust from multiple domestic kitchen exhaust systems, the construction of the system shall be in accordance with all of the following:

12. The common multistory duct system shall serve only domestic kitchen exhaust systems and shall be independent of other types of exhaust systems.
