Rule 12-A2113 - MASONRY CHIMNEYS

2113.4

Seismic anchorage

Strike the Exception to Section 2113.4 in the International Building Code and insert new Exceptions into Section 2113.4 in the Building Code in its place to read as follows:

Exceptions: Seismic anchorage is not required for the following:

1. In structures assigned to Seismic Design Category A.

2. Where the masonry chimney is constructed completely integral to the exterior masonry walls.
