Rule 12-A-G901 - TEMPORARY STRUCTURES AND TEMPORARY STORAGE

G901.1

Temporary structures. Temporary structures located wholly or partially within flood hazard areas shall comply with Section 119 of the Building Code, 12-A DCMR, and with the following conditions:

1. Temporary structures shall be anchored to prevent flotation, collapse or lateral movement resulting from hydrostatic loads, including the effects of buoyancy, during conditions of the design flood.

2. Fully enclosed temporary structures shall have flood openings that are in accordance with ASCE 24 to allow for the automatic entry and exit of floodwaters.

Floodway encroachment. Temporary structures and temporary storage in floodways shall meet the requirements of G103.4.
