Rule 10-B2800 - PURPOSE
2800.1

This chapter shall establish requirements for an individual to be certified as a Registered Land Surveyor permitted to perform and certify property surveys and wall examinations in the District of Columbia pursuant to the Surveyor User Charges Act of 1978 (D.C. Law 2-149; D.C. Code § 1-929 (1987)). This chapter shall also establish minimum technical standards pertaining to these survey services and the procedures for persons to obtain the services of a Registered Land Surveyor.

Authorization for the practice of surveying as provided by this chapter shall not be construed to prohibit any registered or unregistered person from a surveying activity that is not within the scope of this chapter. However, for the character of surveying services not within the scope of this chapter the specific prohibition on use of the seal of registration as specified by § 2804.4 shall apply.
