Section 2D.07 - Amount of LegendSupport:
01 The longer the legend on a guide sign, the longer it will take road users to comprehend it, regardless of letter size. Guidance:
02 Except where otherwise provided in this Manual, guide signs should be limited to no more than three lines of destinations, which include place names, route numbers, street names, and cardinal directions. Where two or more signs are included in the same overhead display, the amount of legend should be further minimized. Where appropriate, a distance message or action information, such as an exit number, NEXT RIGHT, or directional arrows, should be provided on guide signs in addition to the destinations.2 Del. Admin.
