Section 7-294e-9 - Responsibility of chief law enforcement officerA chief law enforcement officer shall be responsible for the following activities with respect to the certification of instructors:
(a) Determining that an instructor holds a valid certificate covering the position to be filled before issuing or recommending a teaching assignment.(b) Submitting to the Instructor Certification Unit notice of assignment for each new training officer in such form as the Unit may specify.(c) Supervising (either directly or through a delegated representative) those persons holding Provisional Certificates by regularly observing, guiding and evaluating their performance of assigned duties, as well as counseling those staff members regarding the requirements for achieving Standard Certification within the three-year time limit.(d) Submitting a signed statement to the Instructor Certification Unit attesting to the applicant's fitness for additional certification (or specifying the reasons for denial in case of unfavorable report) for each person presently or previously under supervision who applies for certification beyond the Standard Certificate.Conn.
