Section 27-102l(d)-303 - Assistance(a) Service Officers may engage in one or more of the following assistance activities upon the request of an applicant or their dependents.(1) Inform veterans and dependents about benefits and services under federal, state or local programs or services for which a veteran or his dependents may be eligible.(2) Aid and advise veterans or dependents in preparing, submitting and presenting claims for veterans benefits and services from federal, state, or local governments and private groups.(3) Arrange or provide travel assistance to officers for appointments and contacts with various benefit providers.(4) Prepare claim forms for veterans benefits.(5) Submit claim forms after the applicant signs.(b) Service Officers may decline to take any action set forth in subsection (a) of this section, if: (1) The veteran has previously requested the same action and failed to cooperate in resolution of the request, and(2) The Service Officer filed a petition under subsection (f) of Section 27-102l(d)-300 of the regulations of Connecticut state agencies, which was granted.Conn.
