Section 19a-179-3 - Regional EMS coordinators(a) There shall be a regional EMS coordinator in each region who shall be appointed by the regional EMS council, subject to the Commissioner's approval that the EMS coordinator can perform the duties in this section in a manner as to enhance the EMS system. In those regions where no regional EMS council exists, such coordinator shall be appointed by the commissioner.(b)The regional EMS coordinator shall be responsible for the following:(1) Facilitating the work of the regional EMS council in developing the plan for the coordination of emergency medical services within the region;(2) Implementing the regional EMS plan;(3) Continuous monitoring and evaluation of all emergency medical services in that region;(4) Making a complete inventory of all personnel, facilities and equipment within the region related to the delivery of emergency medical services pursuant to guidelines established by the commissioner.(5) Maintaining liaison with the director of OEMS or his or her designee;(6) Acting as staff for the council;(7) Coordinating EMS planning activities related to disasters and mass casualty events and assisting in the establishment of mutual aid agreements; and,(8) Performing such other duties as are negotiable between the council and the commissioner.Conn.
