Section 17a-101k-15 - Access to the central registry(a) The department shall provide for use of the central registry on a twenty-four (24) hour daily basis to prevent or discover abuse of children.(b) Access to the central registry shall be limited to duly authorized persons for purposes of obtaining information for the investigation of child abuse and neglect, background checks, and other uses as permitted by law.(c) As permitted by law, prospective employers, licensing authorities and other public agencies, may request background checks for any person, provided they submit the request on a form approved by the department for that purpose, signed by the subject of the background check.(d) As permitted by law, Connecticut state agencies may request background checks under certain circumstances without signed releases pursuant to section 17a-28 of the Connecticut General Statutes.Conn.
