Section 14-164c-9a - Reinspection of vehicles which do not meet emissions standards
(a) Except as provided in subsection (a) of section 14-164c-8 a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, a reinspection shall be required of every vehicle which has been inspected and which does not meet emissions standards. A vehicle shall be eligible for one free reinspection within thirty (30) days as provided in subsection (k) of section 14-164c of the Connecticut General Statutes. A person presenting a vehicle for reinspection shall be required to provide proof that the vehicle has been repaired before it will be reinspected.
(b) A vehicle meeting the emissions standards at the time of reinspection shall have a pass mark indicated on all copies of the vehicle inspection report and such pass mark shall be reported in a timely manner to the EDBMS at the termination of the reinspection. In addition, a pass sticker may be affixed to the vehicle.
(c) An operator of a vehicle not meeting emissions standards at reinspection shall receive a vehicle inspection report with a fail mark, and such fail mark shall be reported in a timely manner to the EDMS. A fail sticker may be affixed to the vehicle.
(d) Except as provided in subsection (a) of section 14-164c-8 a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, any vehicle not meeting emissions standards at reinspection and not issued a waiver in accordance with the provisions of section 14-164c-11 a of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies shall again be presented for inspection and an inspection fee shall be paid as established by the commissioner. A late fee may also be required in accordance with the law.
