Section 14-227a-20a - Installation of IID
(a) Prior to installing an IID, the installer shall obtain written authorization to perform the work from the owner of the motor vehicle, on an invoice signed by the owner, which shall include an estimate of the cost of installation, together with a written copy of the list of costs for periodic inspection, maintenance, calibration or removal of the device and any other charge imposed by the approved applicant. The installer shall provide a copy of such invoice to the owner of the motor vehicle.
(b) The installer shall provide the department with written notification whenever an IID is installed in or removed from a motor vehicle in accordance with sections 14-227a-11 a to 14-227a-28a, inclusive, of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. The notification shall include the name and operator's license number of the person who requested to have the device installed or removed from a motor vehicle, the odometer reading of the motor vehicle in which the device is to be installed or removed and a description of the motor vehicle, including the vehicle identification number.
