Section 13b-96-2 - Applicability, purpose and construction(a) The commissioner, pursuant to section 13b-96 of the Connecticut General Statutes, has jurisdiction to regulate the operation of taxicabs in the State of Connecticut and thus herein prescribes and establishes reasonable regulations with respect to fares, service, operation and equipment as necessary for the convenience, protection and safety of passengers and the public.(b) Sections 13b-96-1 to 13b-96-51, inclusive, of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, shall apply on and after the effective date to all matters within the jurisdiction of the commissioner pursuant to section 13b-97 of the Connecticut General Statutes.Conn.
