Section 8 CCR 1402-1-2.322 - EMERGENCY MEDICAL CAREA. In the event of injury or illness, the affected child must be separated from the other children in the room or area where child care is being provided and made as comfortable as possible. First aid care must be provided as required. If additional care, medical attention, or removal from the family child care home is indicated, the child's parent(s) or guardian(s) must be contacted by telephone, if possible, and medical assistance obtained without undue delay.B. A first aid kit must be maintained and stored in an area inaccessible to children. Supplies must include band aids, adhesive tape, cold pack, gauze pads, rolled gauze, plastic bags, disposable gloves, compression bandages, scissors, masks, and a mechanism for cleaning hands in a remote location.1. Portable first aid kits must be available to staff members at all times, including field trips and short excursions, and must be checked and restocked on at least a monthly basis.2. Expired first aid supplies and equipment must be discarded and replaced.47 CR 04, February 25, 2024, effective 3/16/2024
