Introduction. These guidelines discuss an interdisciplinary approach to low back pain treatment in the acute and subacute timeframes. Interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs are the gold standard of treatment for individuals with chronic low back pain who have not responded to less intensive modes of treatment or individuals who require concurrent treatment for chemical dependency.
