Section 7 CCR 1101-9-4-2 - Classes of Explosive Materials and ExamplesFor the purposes of this article, there are three classes of explosive materials. These classes, together with the description of explosive materials comprising each class, are as follows:
(A) High Explosives - Explosive materials which can be caused to detonate by means of a detonator when unconfined. Examples include:(1) Dynamite and detonators;(2) Detonator-sensitive slurry/water gels and emulsions; and(B) Low Explosives - Explosive materials which can be caused to deflagrate when confined. Examples include: (2) Pull wire igniters; and(C) Blasting Agents - Explosives materials consisting of fuel and oxidizer which cannot be detonated by means of a number 8 test detonator when unconfined. Examples include: (1) Ammonium Nitrate/Fuel Oil mixture (ANFO); and(2) Non detonator-sensitive slurry/water gels and emulsion products.38 CR 03, February 10, 2015, effective 3/10/201541 CR 21, November 10, 2018, effective 12/1/201842 CR 06, March 25, 2019, effective 5/1/2019
