These regulations are promulgated to establish rules for the design, installation, registration, construction, operation, maintenance, testing and inspection of conveyances, and for the licensing of Conveyance Mechanics, Contractors and Inspectors. The purpose of these regulations is to ensure that elevators and other automated conveyances, accessible to the general public, are correctly and safely installed and operated within the state. The Conveyance Owner should communicate with Local Jurisdictions regarding more stringent requirements that may be in place, such as the required operation of the conveyance.
