Section 140.28 - Amendment(1) Upon filing an amendment, it will be indexed in the UCC information management system with a unique file number and the date and time of filing. The record of amendment is associated with the record of the initial financing statement. An amendment does not effect the lapse date of a financing statement, except that a continuation will extend the period of effectiveness of a financing statement.(2)Change of Debtor Name. An amendment changing the name of a debtor will be indexed in the UCC information management system by adding the new name to the index as if it were a debtor of record. A search under either the debtor's old name or the debtor's new name will reveal the initial financing statement and related filings. A record referring to a debtor will not be removed from the UCC information management system merely because an amendment to the record deletes the debtor.(3)Change of Secured Party Name. An amendment that changes the name of the secured party will be indexed on the UCC information management system by adding the new name to the index as if it were a secured party of record. A record referring to a debtor will not be removed from the UCC information management system merely because an amendment to the record deletes the debtor.(4)Deletion of Debtor or Secured Party. An amendment that deletes a debtor or secured party will be indexed on the system, but the name of the debtor or secured party will remain in the index.
