Section 140.36 - Paper Filings(1) Paper filings must be presented on the forms authorized in M.G.L. c. 106, §§ 9-521(a) and (b) or any form prescribed by the filing office.(2) The filing must be accompanied by the appropriate fee in accordance with 950 CMR 140.08.(3) The filing record is scanned into and indexed on the UCC information management system. The image is reviewed to determine whether the filing will be accepted or rejected. The Filing Office, in its discretion, may redact social security numbers from the image displayed on the UCC Information Management System. Records are rejected only for reasons provided in M.G.L. c. 106, §§ 9-516 and 950 CMR 140.14.(4)Accepted Records - If a record is accepted for filing, the file number, filing time and date are permanently associated with the financing statement on the UCC information management system upon the close of business on the day of acceptance. An acknowledgment is prepared as provided in 950 CMR 140.17 and returned to the filer either by first-class mail or email. The acknowledgment contains the file number, filing time and date and a copy of the image of the record.(5) If a filing is rejected, the filing will be returned to the filer as provided in 950 CMR 140.16.
