Revise and replace section R315.3 Location as follows:
R315.3Location. Carbon monoxide alarms in dwelling units shall be installed outside of each separate sleeping area within 10 feet of the bedrooms. Where a fuel-burning appliance is located within a bedroom or its attached bathroom, a carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed within the bedroom. At least one carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed on each story of a dwelling unit, including basements and cellars but not crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics.780 CMR, ch. 51, ch. 3, R301, 301.1, 315.3
