Section 26.23 - Ramp Services
(1)Definition. Ramp services shall mean air carrier lead in/lead out services, parking guidance, chock management, engine start safety, air carrier repositioning, ground power and pushback services.
(2)Equipment. An operator performing ramp services shall maintain equipment in sufficient quantities and, except as provided otherwise in 740 CMR 26.23(2)(c), of sufficient type to service all aircraft handled by the operator, and which shall include at a minimum the following:
(a) Tow bars;
(b) An aircraft air start unit;
(c) A push back/tow tractor that is of sufficient power and braking capability to handle the towing requirements of the largest aircraft regularly using Logan up to and including a 747;
(d) A ground power unit approved by Underwriters Laboratory or a similar recognized standards agency;
(e) Absorbent material for use in case of equipment failure or leakage on the ramp area;
(f) Fire extinguishers on the ramp and gate areas; and
(g) One portable lighting unit.
