Section 29.10 - Driving Machines(1) Where elevating screws are used they shall be of the direct connected type, either worm or beveled gears, and all gears shall be enclosed in a protective housing.(2) Where an elevator is not supported or operated by screws, plungers or similar means, car safeties shall be provided under the platform capable of stopping and holding the platform with full rated load at any point of its travel.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1366, eff. 6/1/2018.
