Section 9.06 - Procedures for Verifying a Practitioner's Prescriptive AuthorityA prescription written by a practitioner may be filled only if the pharmacist called upon to fill such prescription, in the exercise of that pharmacist's professional judgment, determines that:
(1) The prescription is issued pursuant to a valid patient/practitioner relationship and for a legitimate medical purpose by an authorized practitioner acting in the course of his or her professional practice;(2) the prescription is authentic; and(3) the dispensing is in accordance with M.G.L. c. 94C, § 19(a).Amended by Mass Register Issue 1265, eff. 7/18/2014.
