Section 2.11 - Renewal of Licenses(1)Renewal Prior to Expiration Date. An individual who is licensed by the Board as a dispensing optician may renew that license, on or before its expiration date as set forth in 235 CMR 2.10, by: (a) Filing a properly-completed registration renewal application on a form furnished by the Board for that purpose; and(b) Submitting satisfactory written proof to the Board that he or she has completed all of the continuing education activities required for license renewal as set forth in 235 CMR 3.00: Continuing Education; and(c) Paying the registration renewal fee prescribed by the Executive Office of Administration and Finance pursuant to M.G.L. c. 7, § 3B and 801 CMR 4.00: Rates.(2)Effect of Failure to Renew Prior to Expiration Date. An individual who fails to renew his or her license as a dispensing optician, or who otherwise fails to meet the requirements for renewal of his or her license, on or before the expiration date printed on that license, shall be considered unlicensed as of the expiration date printed on his or her license and shall not thereafter engage or offer to engage in the practice of opticianry until such time as his or her license has been reinstated pursuant to 235 CMR 2.12.Amended by Mass Register Issue 1339, eff. 5/19/2017.
