This account shall include the cost of insurance, including premiums paid for fire, boiler, fidelity, casualty, burglar, workmen's compensation, public liability or other forms of insurance. During each month or other accounting period this account shall be charged with that portion of the premiums on insurance in force which is chargeable to that period.
Utilities carrying a part or all of their own insurance may open an insurance reserve, in which event the monthly or periodic charges to Insurance account will be credited to Insurance and Casualty Reserves.
