Section 161.012-5 - [Effective until 10/18/2024] Approval procedures(a) An application for approval of a PFD light under this subpart must be sent to the Commandant (CG-ENG), Attn: Office of Design and Engineering Systems, U.S. Coast Guard Stop 7509, 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE., Washington, DC 20593-7509.(b) Each application for approval must contain-(1) The name and address of the applicant;(2) Two copies of plans showing the construction details of the light;(3) A detailed description of the applicant's production testing program; and(4) A laboratory test report containing the observations and results of approval testing.(c) The Commandant advises the applicant whether the light is approved.
