Section 159.001-5 - [Effective 10/18/2024] Correspondence and applications(a) Unless otherwise specified, all correspondence and applications in connection with approval and testing of equipment and materials should be submitted electronically to typeapproval@uscg.mil. When plans, drawings, test data, etc., are required to be submitted by the manufacturer, the material being transmitted with the application should be clearly identified.(b) If the manufacturer desires hard copy stamped plans be returned to them, or if product samples must be submitted, the plans or samples must be addressed to: Commandant (CG-ENG), Attn: Office of Design & Engineering Standards, U.S. Coast Guard Stop 7509, 2703 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20593-7509.
