Section 522.883 - Etorphine(a)Specifications. Each milliliter of solution contains 1 milligram of etorphine hydrochloride.(b)Sponsor. Distribution is restricted to veterinarians engaged in zoo and exotic animal practice, wildlife management programs, and researchers.(d)Conditions of use -(1)Amount. Administered intramuscularly by hand syringe or syringe dart at a suitable dosage level depending upon the species.(2)Indications for use. For the immobilization of wild and exotic animals.(3)Limitations. Do not use in domestic food-producing animals. Do not use 30 days before, or during, the hunting season in free-ranging wild animals that might be used for food.
