Section 450.35 - Means of compliance(a) Prior to application acceptance, a means of compliance must be accepted by the Administrator for the following:(1) Section 450.115(b)(1) regarding flight safety analyses;(2) Section 450.139(e)(1) regarding toxic hazards for flight;(3) Section 450.145(b) regarding highly-reliable flight safety system;(4) Section 450.163(a)(1) regarding lightning hazard mitigation; and(5) Section 450.187(e)(1) regarding toxic hazards mitigation for ground operations.(b) A person requesting acceptance of a proposed means of compliance outside a license application must submit the proposed means of compliance to the FAA in a form and manner acceptable to the Administrator.
