Section 2819 - Conductor Terminations(a) Where insulated conductors are terminated or spliced, suitable terminations or stress cones shall be installed unless other effective means are used to reduce voltage stress. The metallic shielding or any other voltage shields on cables shall be stripped back to a safe distance according to the circuit voltage and insulation, at all terminations of the shielding, as in potheads and joints.(b) Moisture or mechanical protection for metal-sheathed cables. Where cable conductors emerge from a metal sheath and where protection against moisture or physical damage is necessary, the insulation of the conductors shall be protected by a cable sheath terminating device.Cal.
