Section 56658 - Functions of the Advisory and Review Council(a) The Advisory and Review Council established by the Chancellor shall review applications for grants and loans proposed for funding through the Fund for Instructional Improvement in accordance with criteria established by the Chancellor. When deemed necessary by the Council, independent readers may be employed to review proposals and make recommendations for funding to the Council. The group of readers used to review any given set of proposals shall be selected so as to reflect, as closely as possible, the composition of the Council.(b) The Council may also make recommendations to the Chancellor on other matters related to the operation of the Fund for Instructional Improvement, including but not limited to: (1) the name of a Council member to be appointed chairperson;(2) standing rules governing the operation of the Council; and(3) criteria and procedures for the evaluation of funded projects.Cal.
