Cal. Code Regs. tit. 5 § 53403

Current through Register 2024 Notice Reg. No. 24, June 14, 2024
Section 53403 - Applicability of Amendments

Notwithstanding changes that may be made to the minimum qualifications established in this division, or to the implementing discipline lists adopted by the Board of Governors, the governing board of a community college district may continue to employ a person to teach in a discipline or render a service subject to minimum qualifications, if at the time of initial hire by the district, they were qualified to teach in that discipline or render that service under the minimum qualifications or disciplines lists then in effect.

Every person authorized to serve under a credential shall retain the right to serve under the terms of that credential, and, for that purpose, shall be deemed to possess the minimum qualifications specified for every discipline or service covered by the credential until the expiration of that credential. However, a credential shall be invalid when the holder has been convicted of any crime that, under former law, would have been mandatory grounds for revocation, or when the Chancellor's Office has determined that the credential was obtained by fraud.
